Frequently asked questions
Q.What is yuckr, exactly?
yuckr is the anti-Beli — a social food-ranking app for the dishes you regret. You log what you didn't like, rank it in pairwise "Which is WORSE?" matchups, and every regret gets a signed score from −5.0 (vile) to +5.0 (suspiciously fine). Reality Check aggregates the community's verdict on hyped spots, and the worst dishes climb the Hall of Regret.
Q.How do I get access? Where do I put my invite code?
yuckr is in private beta on TestFlight. If a friend sent you an invite link, tap it — your code fills in automatically at sign-up. Otherwise, request a TestFlight invite from the yuckr waitlist page and we'll email you when a spot opens.
Q.How does the scoring work? Why is lower worse?
You never type a number. yuckr shows two of your regrets side by side and asks which is worse; your picks compute each dish's signed score from −5.0 to +5.0, where lower is worse — a −4.2 is gloriously disgusting, a +2.9 is suspiciously fine.
Q.Who can see my yucks and voice memos?
Your profile, rankings, and the yucks you log are social — friends and other yuckr users can see them in the feed, leaderboards, and Reality Checks. A voice memo attached to a yuck is playable by the people who can already see that yuck. Deleting a yuck deletes its memo too.
Q.Does yuckr track my location?
Only approximately, and only to power nearby-restaurant search (via Google Places). You can also just pick a city manually. yuckr never collects precise GPS location in the background.
Q.How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account from inside the app under Settings. You can also email [email protected] with the subject line "Data deletion request" and we will process your request within 30 days.
